From the tops of the trees to the leaf litter debris and along the beach, discover the various types of reptiles that inhabit our island! Jen Valiulis, SEA’s Environmental Educator will be our guide. The ramble is appropriate for children and adults, ages 5 and over. Bring sunscreen, water and comfortable shoes that you will not mind getting a little muddy or sandy. This event is full – all of the remaining turtle watches are full for this season. Check back in April when we announce our dates for the 2018 season.
This is an opportunity to see hatchling sea turtles emerge from their nest and head out to the ocean. A guide will give you information about sea turtles and the important research and conservation that is being conducted at Sandy Point National Wildlife Refuge. For youth night, all adults must be accompanied by a young person under 18. Limit of four adults per young person. Hatchling watches begin at 5:15 p.m. and usually run until 7:00 or 8:00. This is a great activity for children and the whole family! You must be a SEA member to attend watches with SEA. Reservations are required.
