Join SEA to clean up the beach at Southgate Coastal Reserve before turtle nesting season. Nesting turtles and hatchling turtles can often get hung up in trash on the beach or worse, they mistake it for food when it washes into the water. This activity is open to all community members. Students earn Community Service hours for school requirements! Please bring drinking water and wear appropriate sun protection.
Experience marine ecosystems adjacent to Southgate Coastal Reserve while getting in some exercise. Participants will rotate through two segments: a basic paddleboard class & a guided beach walk along the reserve. Meet at Cheney Bay Beach Resort in front of Paddlesurf St. Croix. Reservation required. Limited to 24 people, ages 12 and above, $10 for SEA members, $15 for non-members. Please call (340) 773-1989 for reservations.

In particular, Smith will share information about Hope, a Whimbrel who spends each winter at Great Pond on St. Croix. Mr. Smith is visiting the USVI as a Celebrity Scientist for UVI’s EPSCoR Program. Please call 773-1989 for information.

Hike is along a gut with uneven rocks and some slippery surfaces so wear sturdy shoes. Free for SEA members and children, $10 for others. Call (340) 773-1989 for registration and directions.
