SEA offers a variety of free or low-cost activities to explore and better understand our island’s environment. Residents and visitors are welcome! SEA strives to provide knowledgeable guides for such activities as shore walks or hikes to better understand our native flora and fauna; visits to the endangered bird rehabilitation program; organic farm visits; star-gazing; and snorkeling trips, to name just a few. Leatherback Turtle Conservation

It’s the beginning of leatherback turtle nesting season on St. Croix!  Local experts, Claudia Lombard (U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service) and Jennifer Valiulis (St. Croix Environmental Association) will share information about the status of leatherback nesting on St. Croix and what you can do to help protect these giant endangered reptiles. Talk will be at the Sandy Point National Wildlife Office, call (340) 773-1989 for directions. Please note that this is NOT part of the turtle watch program.
